Workspace Guidelines and Code of Conduct

Welcome to the Pledge 1% Builders Slack workspace! We are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals come together to learn, discuss, and collaborate on issues related to building a movement of corporate philanthropy. Please note that this communication platform was designed to be a safe space for members of the active Pledge 1% Builders community. When your organization is no longer a Builder, your account on this platform will be deactivated.

To ensure a respectful and valuable experience for all members, we have adapted the following interaction guidelines from the Pledge 1% member community platform:

Respect and Inclusivity:

• Treat all members with respect, kindness, and empathy.

• Embrace diversity of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences.

• Avoid discriminatory language, hate speech, and personal attacks.
  
  

Constructive Discussions:

• Be open to new ideas, perspectives, and learning experiences.

• Engage in discussions that are constructive and focused on learning and growth.

• Use evidence and facts to support your arguments whenever possible.
  
  

Collaborative Spirit:

• Foster collaboration and teamwork among members.

• Share resources, knowledge, and opportunities that can benefit the community.

• Celebrate the achievements and contributions of fellow members.

Privacy and Confidentiality:

• Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other members.

• Do not share personal information or sensitive data without explicit consent.

• Maintain the confidentiality of any information shared within the community.
  
  

Responsible Content:

• Ensure that any content you share, including articles, videos, and resources, is accurate and reliable.

• Avoid spreading false information or engaging in misinformation.

• Cite sources and give credit to creators when sharing their work.
  
  

Thoughtful Self-Promotion:

• While sharing your projects, achievements, or initiatives is encouraged, avoid excessive self-promotion.

• Focus on providing value to the community rather than promoting your own interests.
  
  

No Commercial Interests:

• This community is dedicated to learning and social impact discussions, not for commercial purposes.

• Do not use this space for marketing, advertising, or sales. 

  • Product or service recommendations or suggestions shared in response to an inquiry are acceptable. 

  • Announcements of events relevant to social impact are acceptable. 

Positive Impact: 

• Our community strives to make a positive impact on the world. Whether through discussions, collaborations, or initiatives, we seek to inspire change and empower every company to be a force for good.

By participating in the Pledge 1% Builder Slack workspace, you agree to abide by these guidelines and the general Terms of Service and Code of Conduct for Pledge 1%’s online communities. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or removal from the workspace, depending on the severity of the infraction. Report any violations or issues to the moderators promptly at builders@pledge1percent.org.
